There is gift giving……
And there is extraordinary gift giving……

Mikelle Design is a collection of unique, handmade, mostly one- of-a-kind pieces, infused with positive energy and designed to make you feel gorgeous and uplifted. Mikelle draws inspiration from Eastern culture and years of yoga experience. She says, “I see jewelry as a form of visual poetry, each piece should have truth, beauty and meaning.” This is evident in the exquisite resonance felt in her work. Her couture collection combines 18k gold, precious and semi-precious stones and antique pendants. There’s also a new fun line of sterling silver and fanciful charms. Both are great choices for holiday gifts or a special treat for yourself.

Make a splash!

with the Fastest Growing Swim Team
in Connecticut

The Greenwich Family YMCA Marlins Swim Team is a USS (United States Swimming) and YMCA league year-round program designed for swimmers ages 6 and up of all abilities.
Practices are held from September through the Championship Season in March and begin again for the summer "long course" season in mid-April and continue through Championships in July.
The team provides children and families with opportunities to experience competitive swimming in a fun and exciting environment with a highly experienced and accomplished coaching staff. YMCA membership required for participation.

MARLINS PRACTICE GROUPS TEAM STRUCTURE

The Marlins Swim Team provides swimmers an opportunity to develop at their own pace with proper instruction and training. Swimmers are divided according to age, ability, experience and performance goals. At the entry level, the program is primarily instructional with an increasing emphasis on training once swimmers progress through the program. At every level the major emphasis remains on teaching proper technique with sequential introduction of advanced methods.

BRONZE (ages 6-8): $1200 MST02B
Entry level program. It is designed to be a bridge of transition between swim lessons and the competitive swim program. This is a non-competitive group but swimmers will have the option to participate in some inter-squad and YMCA dual meets. Each swimmer must be able to swim at least one length of freestyle and backstroke. Three practices per week are offered; swimmers are encouraged to attend at least two.

Silver (ages 8-12): $1400 MST03S
Swimmers must swim freestyle and backstroke proficiently and have a rudimentary knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers will begin to learn to use a pace clock, and will start doing "sets" in each practice. Practice sessions are 90% instructional, with the remaining 10% being spent playing games and doing exercises. Five practices per week are offered and swimmers are encouraged to attend at least three. Swimmers may participate in a number of dual and invitational meets, but attendance is not required.

GOLD (ages 10-14): $1600 MST04G
Open to swimmers who are legal in all four competitive strokes. The primary emphasis of this group will be the refining of technique and the introduction of complex sets. Swimmers will improve their use of the pace clock and must be able to complete sets of 15-20 minutes in duration. Five practices per week will be offered, and swimmers will be expected to attend at least four. Swimmers will also be expected to represent the club in dual, YMCA and USS invitational meets.

BLUE MARLINS (ages 9-12): $1800 MST01BM
The Blue Marlins represent the highest level of training available in the Age Group program and continues to build on the technique-oriented base that also includes a healthy component of aerobic conditioning. More complex training concepts are introduced as swimmers approach the peak of their Age Group swimming experience. Swimmers must participate in challenging sets 30-40 minutes in duration, and understand the use of the pace clock. Swimmers will be offered seven practices per week and are expected to train as often as possible. Blue Marlins represent the club in invitational and championship meets, including the Age Group Championships.

Senior II (13 & over): $2100 MST05SII
This team is designed for the developed age group swimmer making the transition to the senior level. Emphasis is placed on making a commitment to training. Senior II swimmers are goal-oriented and understand that training attendance and training performance contribute directly to swim meet success. Practices are offered seven days a week including one weekday morning practice including long course training. This team will participate in YMCA and USA swim meets. Swimmers will be expected to represent the club in any invitational and championship meets in which they have qualifying standards.

SENIOR I (13 & over): $2100 MST05SI
The Senior I Team is for the advanced and experienced swimmer who is committed to the goals of achieving a YMCA National Championship qualifying time or better. This is the most competitive group of the Marlins Swim Team. Swimmers must
be able to complete challenging sets 30-45 minutes in duration, have a minimum of two CT Senior Cuts, be within 1 second of a YMCA National Cut, demonstrate a commitment to swimming, maintain a minimum grade point average, meet minimum practice attendance requirements, and attend all championship and travel meets in which they qualify. This group is committed, skilled and experienced swimmers. Practices are offered 6 days a week with three week-day morning practices and includes some long course training. A minimum of 7 practices is required.

MASTERS (19 & over): $350 per session or $900 for all three
The Masters Swim Program focuses on developing the master level swimmer who desires to improve stroke technique, speed, and endurance. The Masters Program is our only adult fitness-swimming program.
Session I 2008 September 15 – December 20, 2008
Session II 2009 January 5 – April 25, 2009
Session III 2009 April 28 – August 16, 2009

Swim Fundamentals (ages 9-14): $300 (6-week session)
Swim Fundamentals is a non-competitive program for swimmers who are not interested in or ready for the commitment
of a competitive swim program. Instruction is designed to develop all four competitive strokes, increased endurance, and concepts and terminology specific to competitive swimming. One hour practices are offered three times/week and participants should attend at least two of the three.
Wednesdays and Fridays 5:30-6:30pm MSTFUN
Saturdays 10:00-11:00am MSTFUN
